April asked us to mention something about our homes when we posted about the Home Front blog hop. I thought about taking photos of various parts of my house...I thought about taking just a shot of the outside...and then it really hit me that what makes my house a home are these three. When I talk about my home they're really what says it all.
So as not to deprive any of you lovely readers, though, I made my first Home Front layout with a picture from my house. Does anyone else dread seasonal decorating? This is the first time in my memory that I have begun feeling differently about it.

We are a little lacking in holidays in Australia (we don't do Thanksgiving or Halloween, for example), but I do love to decorate for Christmas. I love collecting something extra every year :o)
Beautiful Home Front layout - thanks for sharing it!

I love your page. Great use of the wonderful papers. Christmas definately is my favorite holiday to decorate for. Love the wreaths, nutcrackers, villages, etc.

I LOVE decorating for Halloween in my classroom, but at home, there's nothing quite like decorating for Christmas.

That ampersand is to die for!
I don't decorate for the holidays - though I suppose if you consider building a sukkah in the backyard and decorating it.. that would be my favorite.

Like most of your readers, I too go big at Christmas time. My girls like to decorate for Halloween and would probably decorate for ANY excuse of a holiday if I let them. But it's Christmas that sees every room in our house gets some festive bling!

Christmas, of course!!! Love all the lights & goodies that go along with it.

Christmas is really the only holiday we decorate for in Aust; but I do really love doing that. I go all out & I get to do DH's surgery as well, so that's fun, 'cause he lets me buy new stuff every year with no limit on the budget, seeing it's all a tax deduction!

My favorite holiday to decorate for is Chrismakkuh! We are an inter-faith family and celebrate both Christmas and Hannukah. We have a Hannukah bush and stockings. Love that Hanukkah is the "Festival of Lights." What better way to showcase that with blue Christmas lights. I'm sure this wouldn't work for everybody, but our family adores decorating for the time of the year.

I definitely enjoy decorating for Christmas the most...wish I could muster up a little enthusiasm for the rest of the fun holidays!

The photo of your kids is awesome! And I agree with you about what makes a home. You're very lucky. :o)
I guess i would rather sit on my behind most days than decorate, but my neighbors and I compete to out do each other. I refuse to lose. Christmas we go all out. dang...one neighbor put out their lights today. i still have my inflatable turkey out. I am already losing. :o)

i really like decorating for the fall season because it means that i get to bring out the fall scented candles and make a cute little arrangement of pumpkins on the counter. :]
