A Statement On Today...
Why is it that whenever someone tells you to not take something personally it usually is? I've had a lot of those lately and am wondering if I just need to retreat to the cave...
Moving on, it's been an exciting week around these parts...my friend (and Seth's preschool teacher) Korbi had the sweetest, little baby girl last week, Paisley Marion. Check out her blog for some cute pictures and admire all that hair!
Ella went to her first gymnastics "meet" on Saturday. She's on the verge of moving up into a competition level and this was a fun meet for the kids that don't get to compete all the time to get used to the feeling. She did such a great job, we were so proud of her...this would be the part where I would insert pictures of her with her ribbon/scorecard/whatnot...but she hasn't been home in the daylight for me to get one! She's worked so hard this last year and gained so much ground, we (and she) couldn't be more excited that it's paying off. I guess I can post pictures of her cute new hair cut (just for you, Abbie). She had a ton cut off about Mid-March, unfortunately, not enough to donate to Locks of Love. Maybe next time!
We ended up having to leave the gym meet to head to Lauren's birthday party--I actually do have a couple of pictures of the birthday girl. This kid is now Queen of Webkinz land and was completely surprised by some of the other presents she received, most notably High School Musical tickets from her grandparents and a bike from her parents--lucky kid! This was also the first time that Seth really got into the 'being friendly at someone else's house' aspect--he and Tyler went all out crazy playing boy games like swords, hockey, trucks and cars. It was hilarious to watch them all rough and tumble in the midst of the shrieks and girls.
Now...the next little story might have some offensive language/innuendo...if you're easily offended, look away. :) On the way to Spokane, Evynn and Seth got to talking in the car (you can always count on a good argument out of the two of them) and oddly enough they started talking about Peacocks. Why? No idea. Seth was wondering something about them and Evynn's direct quote was "Peacocks don't fly...they just walk and cock". I think Eric just about drove off the road he was laughing so hard and I just had tears streaming down my face. Meanwhile, Evynn's feeling perfectly pleased that she could educate her younger brother on Peacocks. Just the thought makes me smile all over again.
So there you have it...the recent happenings in all their glory. This week is Spring Break, and while Eric will be hard at work, we will be hard at play. Crossing my fingers for some nice weather for the kiddos and some crafty time for me. :)
Last but not least...my question for today; What was your most memorable Spring Break and why?

Don't take this personally, but.... KIDDING!!! I'm sorry you've heard that one too many times lately!! Bleck!
OK-- laughing at the the Peacock conversation!! too funny!
My most memorable spring break was early in High School with my friend Michelle, in TX--she came with us on a river-tubing trip-- we still laugh about all of the happenings on that trip!!
The other would be the one I've tried to purge from my brain--& that would be my senior year of high school when I went to Padre Island (beach) with a group of my friends-- it's one of those times when MTV was there filming all of the madness! I'll keep it at that! shhhhh!
xoxo
