The Boys Have It...

This year has been the year of boys. I'm a firm believer! Almost every baby I've had the pleasure of photographing this year has been a boy. Sure, I've had a couple of girls--three, I think! That means lots and lots and lots of beautiful baby boys! I have to share a few with you, so that I can talk about my new idea.

First up is the sweetest little bean you can imagine, Aiden! (I was completely convinced he was going to be girl #4 on my year...but then he presented himself!! ;) Here, Aiden is about 2 weeks old--perfect age for a newborn session!

My next little angel is Gabriel (gosh, that was a pun I didn't intend) and he is a charmer, plain and simple. One look at this punkin' and you lose your heart! Here, Gabriel is around 3 months--quite a change from being newborn, huh?

So are you mushy yet? I get asked all the time "How do you do it? Doesn't it make you want another one?" I always laugh and say that's exactly why I do it...I just love babies and being able to see and photograph them is the best part! No sleepless nights!

Next up is Drake. This little love bug has some of the best expressions, as you can see from his picture! His session was a case of me having a really hard time trying to even sort through his proofs--they were ALL this cute! These were his 6 month photos.

Have you figured out where I'm going with this? 0,3,6....this is probably where I'd put my 9 month old example--(if I had one). What I'm trying to say is that I think it's important to capture different stages, especially in the first year. To that end, I'm thinking about putting together a "Baby's First Year Package" that would make it really rewarding for you. I'd love to hear any feedback on what you think something like that should include and encompass. Feel free to email me or respond by leaving a comment here on the site.

My last feature is one of the cutest babies on the planet and also one that I've had the pleasure of photographing several times since he was just a wee newborn. It's the one, the only, the fabulous Mr. Luke! He just turned a year the day before we took these. Is he the man or what? Just another case of too many photos to choose from...I'm glad I'm not his mom trying to decide! (Right, Nicole?)

That's a bit of what I've been tossing around lately. I've also been inspired by some recent senior sessions and a family or two! I can't wait to show them off in my next post, but for now I wish you happy summer's end!

It's Summertime!

The perfect time to have your family portrait done! I love natural, outdoor photography and this time of year just speaks to me...the lazy, long days, the drippy popsicles and soapy bubbles...it's all good! Maybe you want to get a jump start on your senior pictures while the scenery is blooming and your tan is golden--I'm happy to accommodate you!

I had the good fortune, recently, to work with Cherise...a gorgeous girl who is as sweet as can be--she even put up with my son tagging along on her shoot! Here's my favorite from her session.

I was also lucky enough to spend some time with the Lang kids...they're not only darling, but just so full of personality, as well! Every mom thinks it's exhausting to try and talk three children into being photographed, but that's what makes for the interesting, fun, memorable shots! I get asked frequently if I do weddings, sports teams and events. Although I hate turning people down, I don't photograph weddings. If you're looking for a wedding photographer in the Eastern Washington area, I'm happy to give you referrals to a photographer(s) that meets your needs and style.

I do and will photograph your sports team or preschool and offer reasonable packages for these sessions.

Event photography is also something I offer in limited numbers of sessions per year. If you have an important event coming up, I'm happy to discuss options with  you!

It's All Coming Together!

You may be wondering why I would switch to a blog format website after having a beautiful flash website for so long. There's a simple answer to that, and it's because I wanted my clients to have a more personal experience via the internet.

It's easy to go to someone's glossy website and think you know what you're going to get. Often, I've heard that may not be so true. I wanted a site where people could interact, leave feedback, ask questions and see the latest photos as they happen. Basically, I'm hoping to know my client better and hoping they know me a little better making for a more comfortable relationship.
